MS charges for security
This month we had a round-robin talk about MicroSoft's plans to start charging for updates in Febuary. It has really got people's dander up.
The pros: We can expect them to provide this service for free. After all, there is no difference when you pay Symantec (Norton) for their subsciption to signatures.
The cons: There are to many to list so I'll just mention one. If MicroSoft product was not such a virus-magnet (vulnerable to viruses), these additional programs wouldn't be necessary.
Next month we'll be going over using temporary and throw-away accounts to control SPAM. Since there are positives, negatives, and alternatives. Find-out what is best for you.
